Mateo Nube was born in La Paz Bolivia, 3 weeks
before the U.S. supported coup that brought
General Hugo Banzer Suarez into power. Living
under a dictatorship for his 1st decade of life left
a mark on his music, politics, and outlook on life.
He moved to the San Francisco Bay Area at the
age of 18 and eventually joined a collective of
musicians who socialized and played together at
the La Peña Cultural Center in Berkeley. The 1st
band he played in was the duo El Trio los Cuatro.
He later fronted the Latin rock band The
Worldwide Wuelguistas. He sings, song writes
and plays guitar for Los Nadies.
